Description

hfakjdrfhdskaj this is for :iconthedigitalwar:...thought I'd give it a shot, I guess. I dunno.

GO EASY ON ME, EVERYONE; my familiarity with Digimon is VERY limited .w.;; I've done some research so I think I'm okay, but don't expect me to be able to play Name That Digimon or anything. (Luckily this group only takes the first two seasons into account, and those are the only ones I watched as a kid, so hurray~?)

* * * *

NAME
-Chinese: 精 儒昌 I'm sorry it's kinda slapped-together
-English: Alexander Jing Whatever pun you can make with that, he's probably heard already okay

AGE
-18

GENDER
-Male

DIGIVICE
-Pocket calculator

DIGITAL SHARD
-Knowledge

HEIGHT
-5'10"

NATIONALITY
-Mostly Chinese-American, with some Korean, Vietnamese, and Laotian mixed in
-(Points to anyone who actually knows where Laos is, guys)

ABOUT
-Eccentric, lazy, intelligent, and socially awkward. Messy and unorganized, but somehow manages to find things quickly anyway, so one wonders if the mess isn't just his way of admittedly terrible organization. Where he went to school, Alexander was somewhat well-known for being both a top student and nigh-unbelievably work-phobic. Sounds like a paradox? Not exactly. What work he does end up with, Alexander does diligently, but will also try all sorts of bizarre tricks to avoid being assigned more than the bare minimum. He's nearly always scowling, but this is really just a tactic he employs so that people won't try approaching him for favors. ("Hey Alex can you help me with my Chem h-" "/GLARE" "um oh never mind I'll just go ask someone else.")

-Alexander is usually quiet and objective, but occasionally butts into other people's conversations, especially when they're discussing something he has strong opinions about. He tries to give the impression of being detached and collected, but drops these attempts in a flash if a button is pressed, becoming loud and assertive. If he gets especially riled up, he's prone to spouting weird nonsense that often throws his alleged intellect into serious doubt. He's probably easy to troll. Alex also responds badly to displays of affection outside of handshakes and the like, and will instinctively back away from a hug.

-He's a huge Biology geek, and often becomes frustrated when a movie he's watching blatantly ignores real-life rules. For this reason, barely anyone wants to watch stuff with him anymore. He's growing accustomed to the quirks of the Digital world, since it's...digital, but still lapses into nitpicking from time to time. He likes video games (they are one of the few things he will enable Willing Suspension of Disbelief for), and will sometimes wear silly things in public. Spill a drink on his tic-tac-toe hoodie and he will attempt to cut you. DO IT DO IT DO IT

-Alexander belongs to your typical upper-middle class Asian family of PRESSUREPRESSURE parents and OVERACHIEVER kid, except that he isn't really an overachiever - he just lets people think he is. His father is often away on business trips and is rarely home, so when Alexander and his father do see each other, the interaction is usually very awkward and Alex inwardly compares his dad as being more like "Mom's good friend" than an actual father. When he was little, Alex was an enthusiastic kid who did whatever he could to make his parents happy, but somewhere on the way to high school he became disillusioned with that ideal, most likely from watching the failures and effects they had on his peers, and began to descend more and more into a slowly sinking slacker-dom.

-A few years ago, his mother became truly irritated with his blatant-if-you-squint lack of extracurricular activities and berated his lack of ambition, questioning how he would ever get into a good college. Alex replied that he didn't really care much about whatever college he got into, provoking a fight where Alex's mother proceeded to kick him out of the house in the desperate hope that by the time he inevitably came crawling back, he would have learned to be more responsible for himself. Alexander wandered around for a few days, extremely hungry but too stubborn to go home. Luckily, during this time, he met Papiliomon, whom he first screamed at and mistook for some sort of bizarre worm-demon and next tried to stab and eat, but eventually poor Papiliomon was able to explain that he was actually a freakish caterpillar-monster from the computer and was here to be friends forever with Alex.
...Alex tried to stab him again.

-Butyeah, everything was worked out in the end. Turned out Papiliomon could spin silk (and QUITE A LOT of it), a skill which Alexander relied on shamelessly over the next few months to sell the material to fabric stores. Eventually his worried mother hunted him down - cue hysterical mutual apologies and reconciling (and obligatory Freak Out upon seeing Papiliomon) - but saw how healthy he looked and also realized that something good HAD come out of the temporary banishment...Alexander was totally fending for himself now! (Well, with a lot of help from a freakish caterpillar-monster from the computer, but still.) This caused his mother to accept that Alexander actually COULD be trusted with his own future.
...Well, he's still a lazy bum, but less so than before, at least.

-In any case, Alexander's mother soon encouraged him to try out different things to see what he might want to do in life, so Alex is currently studying abroad and staying in the Sol dorm because OH MY GOD MORTGAGE PRICES. And he barely knew any of the local language beyond being able to read some of it, so it was pretty much a godsend that Papiliomon was fluent. Despite his alignment with the Sol, however, Alexander identifies much more with the Lune and often sneaks off to their facilities...it's good that they're allies, or he'd probably be in huge trouble aha. He spends so much time there, in fact, that I'm starting to get the feeling that he would live there if someone was stupid generous enough to let him share their dorm with him.

DIGIMON PARTNER
-See "Papiliomon" for the important part uwu
-Full lineart references for nearly all of these forms can be found here: [link]
-All designs may be subject to minor changes.

TINEIMON
-Type: Micro
-Stage: Fresh/Baby
-Attribute: Data
-Attacks: N/A
-Personality: Shy, meek, patient
-Other: The fact that the cocoon-like Tineimon digivolves into the caterpillar-like Demipapiliomon frustrates the Biology-loving Alexander to no end. NO. END.

DEMIPAPILIOMON
-Type: Insectoid
-Stage: In-Training
-Attribute: Data
-Attack: Silk Shot
-Personality: Timid, submissive, dependent, introverted, easily intimidated. Keeps his thoughts to himself, becomes uncomfortable around large groups, and is happiest when left alone in a small space to curl up and sleep.
-Other: Y'know those ellipse-shaped rolls of yarn you can find at the fabric store? I guess not, but Demipapiliomon is almost EXACTLY that size. Also, he eats a lot. While Demipapiliomon is easily the most convenient form to lug around (Tineimon is less squishy and more fragile), Alexander considers it a huge hassle to take Demipapiliomon to school/anywhere with him for the sole reason that Demipapiliomon eats more than he does.

PAPILIOMON
-Type: Insectoid
-Stage: Rookie
-Attribute: Data
-Attacks: Silver Bullet, Binding Shot
-Personality: Rational, reasonable, cautious, sarcastic (no, friend, that's not an attack). Papiliomon, who stays in Rookie form as often as possible, is polite, hardworking, and easily flustered, but a little bit of a doormat who can't always stand up for himself. He often finds himself "cleaning up" after Alex, whether it be his social missteps or physical messes. Papiliomon is often exasperated and, like Demipapiliomon, dislikes crowds. He is rather scholarly, always eager to learn or appreciate. Sometimes he's a little ashamed of his partner, but they're good friends anyway.
-Other:

IMAGOMON
-Type: Insectoid
-Stage: Champion
-Attribute: Data
-Attacks: Wings of Night, Dark Bullet
-Personality: Curious, analytical, investigative, patient, observant, stoic. Imagomon, the "quiet scientist"-type, isn't particularly expressive or emotional, which makes it all the more surprising when he suddenly decides to be playful and nudge someone in the back or something. He has a keen eye for detail.
-Other:

METALIMAGOMON
-Type: Dragon
-Stage: Ultimate
-Attribute: Vaccine
-Attacks: To be revealed
-Personality: To be revealed
-Other: To be revealed

LEPIDOPTERAMON
-Type: To be revealed
-Stage: Mega
-Attribute: To be revealed
-Attacks: To be revealed
-Personality: To be revealed
-Other: To be revealed
